Troubling Retirement Statistics

I was watching CNBC (which is generally a bad idea) and they showed a couple statistics that I thought were crazy.
-60% of people over 45 years old have less then $100,000 saved for retirement
-50% of Baby Boomers have no idea how much money they will need to retire
